Spectrum TimeClock supports shift differential pay calculations from its web based timeclock interface. The image below is an example of the shift differential pay rules that we configured for a Kansas City hospital. After configuring all of the shift differential pay rules, the pay calculations are performed automatically at payroll time.
In the example, employees working from Saturday morning at 7:00 AM to Monday morning at 7:00 AM receive 10% shift differential pay on top of normal pay. Employees working from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on Monday night through Saturday morning receive 5% night shift differental pay.

The shift differential rules can also be setup to force overtime pay, like on weekends.
