(January 2007) Yahoo!® has been in the process of upgrading their Pay Per Click (PPC) client systems to a new system more similar to the Google AdWords system. This update (called "Panama") has resulted in the reorganization of keyword ads that some have found slightly painful.
Additionally, Yahoo decided to shutdown their Overture™ keyword research tool at inventory.overture.com. We believe that this was arguably the best keyword research tool available. Granted, the tool wasn't always reliable and sometimes wouldn't load for us, but it returns a large number of keywords, as well as quantitative search counts for a single month.
Apparently, they got a number of calls from complaining clients (in addition to ours), because the tool is back up. Hopefully they will continue to keep it running!
